Research at Fourrier House

Each study begins with an inspiration.  It’s all well and good to want to help, but without inspiration, activity lacks focus and helps none.  Our researchers meet with a need; be it from a volunteer, a family member, or a representative from a special needs group.  From there we develop a study that not only addresses the expressed need, but works to provide a network of support. For example, our study uses Body Tsunami to facilitate a better quality of life was inspired by some of the therapists’ experiences during it’s development.  During the modality’s nascency, the therapists worked with many different people; among them were a child with autism, an older gentleman with crippling arthritis, and a young woman with PTSD.  While the results are far from conclusive, they all showed reasonable evidence that would support the beginning of further research.  From there our researchers identified an existing need in the community and reach out to local organizations to create a partnership to further investigate the effects of Body Tsunami.

Once a modality has provided significant evidence of it’s effectiveness, Fourrier House will work to train professionals outside of the immediate Fourrier House community in an effort to help those who are impacted by the original inspiration and need.
